An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Purchasing Manager to work within an established team and a busy environment, centrally located at our Lytham Head Office. This is a fully office-based role.
You will be part of a team who are vital to the functioning of the company. You will be responsible for the management of the team and ensuring that the company builds and develops a cost-effective competitive and stable supply chain. If you believe this is you, we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar Buyer / Purchasing role and looking to join a growing organisation for the next step in their career. You will be a confident communicator including with senior stakeholders, and you will enjoy working in cross-functional teams, building relationships both internally and with external suppliers to extract maximum value from the relationships.
We require someone with good numerical and analytical skills who can deliver insights and drive the direction of their categories. You will have strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills whilst demonstrating resilience under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
Experience and Qualifications:- 5 years’ experience in a Purchasing Manager or Similar role - Required
- Experience with Sage Line 200 – Desirable
- CIPS qualification – Desirable
- Responsible for the purchase order process and accuracy in line with purchasing SOPs
- Ensure new suppliers are selected and set up in accordance with the appropriate SOPs
- Negotiate the best possible price for goods and services, while ensuring all other supplier terms such as payment, lead time, sample costs and MOQs are the best possible for the Company
- Ensure contracts are in place for all key suppliers and that all suppliers agree to our Company Terms and Conditions of business
- Support R&D with new product development projects to ensure that any new raw materials required are sourced effectively, and there is continuity of supply
- Ensure that any changes to terms are communicated to the Junior Buyer so that they can maintain the master supplier database effectively
- Support the organisation in capital project development and negotiation to agreed process / SOPs
- Maintaining stock at the agreed levels
- Ensuring effective and efficient delivery of raw materials and packaging
- Work to continually develop a “just in time” programme with major suppliers
- Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (including a 1 hour lunch break)
- Up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
