Tangent is a digital agency partnering with some of the world’s largest enterprises to design future-ready experiences, products and capabilities. Our multidisciplinary design team spans strategy, UX and UI, with a growing focus on LLM-powered interfaces, generative UI (GenUI) and AI-enabled design workflows. We’re an agency spanning strategy, consultancy, design, engineering and project management, with studios in Newcastle, London, Cape Town, Lahore, Cairo and Poznań. We’re now looking for a mid-weight AI Product Designer who’s excited by how design is evolving and wants to help shape what modern, AI-powered experiences look and feel like.

What you’ll be doing

  • Discovery, Research and Insight
    • Support qualitative and quantitative research activities, using AI-assisted tools to help synthesise insight, identify patterns and inform product direction.
    • Translate research into clear experience opportunities, particularly where LLM-powered interfaces can add meaningful value.
  • AI-powered UX and Prototyping
    • Design and prototype user experiences that combine strong design fundamentals with LLM-powered and GenUI approaches.
    • Explore conversational, adaptive and system-driven interfaces, testing ideas quickly and iterating based on feedback.
    • Work across low and high fidelity prototypes, including interactive and conversational concepts.
  • Conversational, Agentic and LLM-powered Experiences
    • Support the design of LLM-powered interfaces, including conversational and agent-like experiences.
    • Help shape prompts, flows, states and interaction patterns that sit on top of language models and feel natural, on-brand and genuinely useful.
    • Collaborate with engineers to understand model behaviour and design interfaces that work with its strengths and limitations.
  • Design Systems and GenUI
    • Apply and extend design systems to support GenUI and AI-driven interfaces, ensuring consistency, clarity and scalability.
    • Explore how structured design foundations such as tokens, components and patterns can power adaptive and generative UI experiences.
  • Client Collaboration and Workshops
    • Contribute to collaborative workshops that help clients understand emerging AI-powered and GenUI experiences.
    • Work alongside senior designers to turn complex ideas into clear, actionable outcomes.
  • Communication and Craft
    • Clearly explain design decisions, connecting user needs, business goals and emerging technology.
    • Share work confidently with internal teams and clients through strong storytelling and visual communication.
  • Innovation and Growth
    • Stay curious about new tools, workflows and ways of working, including vibe-driven design and coding workflows, no-code tools and AI-assisted prototyping.
    • Contribute ideas that help Tangent evolve its AI and design practice.

What we are looking for

  • We’re looking for a mid-weight designer with strong digital design foundations and a genuine interest in LLM-powered interfaces and GenUI. You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you should be excited by where design is heading. You can demonstrate:
  • Strong UX and UI design fundamentals, with confidence using modern design tools.
  • Experience prototyping and iterating ideas, including interactive or conversational experiences.
  • Interest or hands-on exposure to LLM-powered interfaces, conversational UX or GenUI through client work, internal projects, prototypes or personal exploration.
  • Design systems literacy, with an understanding of how systems enable scale, especially in AI-driven products.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and evolving problems.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to keep learning.
  • Attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Alignment with Tangent’s values and culture.
  • Experience with coding isn’t required, but curiosity around vibe-driven workflows, no-code tools or AI-assisted build approaches is a definite plus.
