I am searching for a Systems Administrator for my client, a global technology company focused on delivering enterprise-grade software and infrastructure solutions to the energy, fuel, and retail sectors. This role sits within their internal support division and plays a critical part in maintaining system availability, managing hosted platforms, and supporting international clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support physical and virtual server infrastructure, primarily using Hyper-V and Windows Server.
- Troubleshoot and administer Active Directory, SQL Server, SAN, and networking platforms.
- Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and maintenance tasks.
- Execute platform upgrades, provisioning, and performance tuning.
- Administer Veeam backups, WSUS, and certificate management.
- Monitor system health and resolve complex issues across infrastructure layers.
- Execute change requests and collaborate with internal teams and contribute to cross-functional deployments.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 3 weeks) and support critical maintenance windows.
What We\’re Looking For
- 4+ years’ experience in a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Deep expertise in Hyper-V, Windows Server/AD, Windows clustering, and SAN administration.
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting, SQL Server troubleshooting, and Veeam.
- Comfortable working with firewall/switch configurations and applying networking fundamentals.
- Strong communicator, detail-oriented, and collaborative across tech/non-tech teams.
- Willingness to support Sunday maintenance windows (occasionally) and participate in an on-call rota.
