Tangent International are urgently looking for a Network Rail Contractor Engineering Manager (CEM) to work a 12 month rolling contract based in United Kingdom (Remote)

Seeking an experienced and Network Rail accredited Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) to lead and manage all engineering aspects of the critical Network Rail contract.

This role is pivotal in enabling direct delivery capabilities, strategically reducing reliance on subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with Network Rail\'s stringent engineering standards.

The successful candidate will navigate complex project environments and contribute significantly to long-term account strategy and insourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Leadership & Management: Provide comprehensive engineering leadership and management for the Network Rail contract, ensuring all technical deliverables meet project requirements and Network Rail standards.
  • Network Rail Interface: Act as the primary engineering interface with Network Rail, managing technical communications, approvals, and resolving engineering-related issues.
  • Technical Compliance & Assurance: Ensure all engineering activities, designs, and implementations comply with Network Rail\'s technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Oversight: Oversee the technical strategy and execution for the contract, aligning with broader objectives for service delivery and insourcing.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage relationships with Network Rail stakeholders, internal teams, and other relevant parties, particularly in a politically complex environment.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Actively mentor and guide employees, sharing specialized knowledge, experience, and best practices related to Network Rail engineering and accreditation processes to support the development of internal capabilities and the insourcing strategy.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate engineering documentation and provide regular progress reports to management and Network Rail.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Mandatory: Current and Valid Network Rail CEM Accreditation.
  • Proven experience as a Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) on significant Network Rail projects.
  • Deep understanding of Network Rail\'s engineering processes, standards, and safety regulations.
