Children’s Social Worker - Locum / Agency

We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and qualified Children’s Social Workers to join our locum network across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Bedfordshire, and Gloucestershire.

This role offers exceptional flexibility, allowing you to manage your own caseload and shift patterns while making a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families across these regions. Whether you prefer duty/assessment teams, long-term child protection, or children in care, we have placements tailored to your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out robust child and family assessments, identifying risks, and implementing tailored support plans.

• Managing a flexible caseload within Child Protection (CP), Children in Need (CiN), or Looked After Children (LAC) framework.

• Participating in multi-agency working with schools, health authorities, and police to ensure child safety.

• Representing the local authority in family court proceedings and court assessments when required.

• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date case management records in line with statutory guidelines.

Requirements

• Qualifications: A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, or CQSW).

• Registration: Active Registration with Social Work England.

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care.

• Checks: An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).

• Mobility: Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle for business travel.
