At Foster + Partners, some of the most celebrated design work in the world is created every day — and behind every great project is an extraordinary level of craft, precision and presentation. Our print rooms are not “back office.” They are a core part of how the practice communicates design: from high-end tender submissions and contractual issues to presentation boards, books, boxed deliverables and the polished material that helps win and deliver the world’s most ambitious projects.
We are looking for a Reprographics Operator to join our Print Room team — a hands-on role for someone who takes genuine pride in quality, enjoys working at pace, and understands that the smallest detail can make the biggest difference. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a global design studio, producing work of an exceptionally high standard, in an environment where craftsmanship matters.
This is a client-facing, high-trust role within one of Foster + Partners’ print rooms. You’ll support project teams across the practice with a wide range of print requirements — from everyday studio needs through to high-end presentation work and complex submissions. You’ll work with specialist print, finishing and binding equipment, helping produce beautiful output that reflects the brand and standard Foster + Partners is known for. The pace is fast, the expectations are high — and the satisfaction is real: you’ll be part of delivering the physical materials that represent world-class architecture on a global stage.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering high-quality print and finishing services, including:
- Producing large format colour prints using Smartstream software and HP Pagewide plotters
- Printing high-end presentation boards and media using Onyx RIP software and flatbed printing
- Running small format printing via toner-based press and HP Indigo equipment
- Cutting / creasing media using a Zund digital cutting table
- High-quality finishing: wiro binding, glue binding, laminating, foil sleeking, foil embossing
- Guillotining using a Polar programmable guillotine
- High-end book finishing (hardback covers, end papers, case making)
- Creating premium custom presentation packaging (slip cases, clamshell boxes, magnetic flip tops etc.)
- Supporting broader print-room operations as required, including overtime/weekend work when needed
- Working to strict standards around Health & Safety, maintaining clean and safe working areas, and using PPE where required
What we’re looking for
- This role suits someone who is practical, precise and proud of their work — someone who enjoys producing an exceptional finished product and can thrive in a high-performance environment.
- You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in a print room / reprographics environment, or strong transferable skills from high-quality production settings
- Confidence running both large and small format print devices and related RIP/DFE workflows
- A good understanding of finishing methods and presentation standards (binding, foiling, trimming, bookmaking etc.)
- Working knowledge of Adobe software (particularly Acrobat and colour workflows)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control — especially for client-facing presentation materials
- Excellent communication and customer service skills — professional, calm and helpful under pressure
- Strong organisation and time management; able to prioritise quickly when demand spikes
- Discretion and maturity when handling sensitive or confidential materials
- A proactive mindset: you take ownership, spot issues early, and continuously improve how things run
Desirable:
- Experience in similar roles within multi-site environments
- Familiarity with print management systems
Why Foster + Partners
Because quality isn’t optional here — it’s the standard. This is a rare chance to be part of a world-leading creative practice and produce physical outputs that directly support the delivery of iconic work. You’ll join a team that takes pride in craftsmanship, professionalism and pace — where your skills are valued, your output is seen, and excellence is expected. If you want a role where the work is tangible, high-quality, and genuinely matters to the success of a global studio — this is it.
