Role Overview:
We are working with a small but growing roofing company based in Corby who are looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager to join their roofing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong estimating and commercial management experience who is looking for a flexible and varied role within a supportive team environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business opportunities, managing client relationships, supporting tender submissions, and assisting with larger quotations and pricing exercises. This role offers flexible working arrangements, including part working from home.
Your responsibilities as a Commercial Manager:
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain existing client relationships
- Manage commercial negotiations and contracts
- Prepare, review, and submit tenders
- Support with larger quotations, take-offs, and pricing exercises
- Identify additional sales opportunities, including material costing services
- Draft and estimate tender projects
Manage tender portal submissions across sectors including:
- Local authorities
- Education
- Healthcare
Conduct business development activities including:
- Cold calling
- LinkedIn outreach
- Utilise lead generation platforms
Ensure relevant roofing accreditations remain up to date, including:
- Langley
- Bauder
- IKO
- Sika
- ClassicBond
- Marley
Maintain subcontractor training records and compliance documentation, including:
- Asbestos Awareness
- First Aid
- Toolbox Talks
To be successful as a Commercial Manager you will have:
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Experienced in roofing estimating and/or commercial management
- Knowledgeable in roofing systems and specifications
- Experienced in pricing projects and managing tenders
- Confident building and maintaining client relationships
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills
