Yard Person / Stores Person required for expanding Suffolk based engineering company, who specialise in the assembly of large portable plant and equipment. The successful Yard Person/ Stores Person will be joining a small friendly team to help carry out the on-time assembly, testing and be part of the continuous improvement process of our client’s world class equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Yard / Stores Management:
  • Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries of goods and materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of stock and materials, ensuring that stock levels are regularly monitored and updated.
  • Manage the picking and packing of orders for engineering projects or production requirements.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move, load, and unload materials, products, and equipment.
  • Engineering Support:
    • Help with basic maintenance and repairs, under the guidance of the engineering team.
    • Support the smooth running of engineering projects by ensuring the timely availability of required materials and parts.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or engineering competency is desirable.
    • A valid forklift operator's license (Counterbalance or Reach) is required.
    • Basic understanding of inventory management and stock control systems.
    • Good organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • A practical mindset with a willingness to learn new skills.

    Benefits:

    • Hours 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a 12 noon finish Friday, based on a 37.5 hours per week.
    • Competitive basic salary c£28K (depending on experience) plus bonus and O/T.
    • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and pension scheme.
    • Parking on site.
