We are currently recruiting a Quality Technician to join a busy engineering company in the Ipswich area on a temporary ongoing contract. You will ensure products and processes meet established standards by conducting inspections, audits, tests and reporting findings to improve quality.
Duties will include:
- Audit both process and product, identifying and investigating quality deficiencies
- Establish root cause and solution
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering to prevent and resolve quality deficiencies
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis and quality standards/systems
- Provide immediate response to line stoppages
- Set and maintain standards for subjective quality characteristics
- Conduct inspections on parts and measure parts accurately using appropriate methods
- Inspect products/materials at various production stages to ensure compliance with specification
- Conduct tests and measurements using specialised tools/equipment where required (e.g. welded components, oil cleanliness, product functionality)
- Document and report findings and maintain quality records
Ideal candidates will have:
- Education to at least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering field
- Previous experience within an Engineering quality environment
- The ability to read and understand Engineering drawings
- Good working knowledge of quality standards and systems, including ISO9001 or the equivalent standard
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement tools and component manufacturing methods
- Self-motivated and a team player
- IT literate
