We are currently recruiting for a Production Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering team and play a key role in improving manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement.

The Role

The Production Engineer will be responsible for managing production-related engineering projects, improving efficiency, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives. You’ll work closely with production, operations, and quality teams to deliver measurable improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and deliver production-related engineering projects
  • Drive process improvement initiatives aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Develop and implement projects to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Lead line balancing activities and follow up on improvements
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and risks whilst working closely with Production, Quality and planning
  • Monitor and analyse production and engineering data using SAP
  • Create and update production documentation, including work instructions and process flows
  • Analyse technical production issues and carry out root cause analysis
  • Track and report KPIs related to production performance
  • Actively support continuous improvement and Kaizen activities

Applicants must have

  • Ideally have a Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or similar preferred)
  • Previous experience working within an engineering production department
  • Hands-on experience with production-related engineering projects and methodologies
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, VSM, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SAP and strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or industrial cooling systems is advantageous

Salary / Benefits

  • Competitive pay c£35K p/a
  • Full-time hours, 8am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays and Pension
