Due to continued growth within their Electrical Engineering Division, our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Operations Manager to lead and support the successful delivery of electrical projects in the industrial sector. This is a senior operational role requiring a technically competent and commercially aware individual with strong leadership capability, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to project and team management. The successful candidate will be based at the offices near Ipswich and will oversee electrical operations across multiple sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the Electrical Engineering Division
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical projects from conception through to completion
- Lead and manage electrical engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and site teams
- Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, health & safety standards, and company procedures
- Carry out operational planning, labour allocation, and resource management
- Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments
- Attend site meetings and provide technical and operational support
- Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and quality standards
- Support estimating, procurement, and project reporting activities
- Ensure all electrical works are completed in accordance with BS7671 and industry best practice
- Maintain excellent customer relationships and represent the company professionally
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across the division
Candidate Requirements
- C&G Level 3 BS7671 (18th Edition)
- C&G 2391 Inspection and Test advantageous
- Proven experience in an Electrical Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Supervisory role
- Strong background in industrial electrical installations
- Excellent project planning and operational management skills
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing teams
- Full UK Driving Licence
