A Day in the Life of the Director, Privacy – Global: This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with international data privacy laws, providing legal and operational guidance on privacy and security, and advancing Tandem’s privacy and data protection programs. Responsibilities include developing privacy policies, conducting impact assessments, managing data inventories, overseeing data requests, collaborating on incident response, and advising on legal and regulatory developments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve global privacy compliance programs and policies.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and maintain data inventories.
  • Manage data-related requests and privacy incident responses.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to measure and report compliance metrics.
  • Support privacy by design in product development, including medical devices and digital health products.
  • Stay informed on global privacy laws, communicate requirements, and conduct training.
  • Lead internal processes to support privacy compliance and manage external relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of GDPR, PIPEDA, HIPAA, and other relevant laws.
  • Experience translating legal requirements into effective privacy programs.
  • Understanding of healthcare data management and privacy risks.
  • Proven leadership in a senior privacy role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong communication, judgment, and ethical standards.
  • Technical understanding of IT infrastructure, software, and privacy-by-design principles.
  • Legal qualification, such as a law degree and solicitor/barrister status in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Additional privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/US/E) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of privacy legal and compliance experience, with at least 5 in healthcare or personal health information.
  • Language skills in European languages (French or Spanish) are desirable.
