- Reporting to: Team Leader Design

The Company
Pertemps is working with an SME engineering business specialising in the bespoke design, manufacture and installation of their products for their commercial clients. The company works primarily with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer from the sheet metal / fabrication sector to join a busy and growing design team. You will be responsible for producing technical general arrangement drawings, as well as 2D and 3D production drawings for bespoke metalwork projects. This is a hands-on technical role where you will support projects from concept design through to fabrication and site installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 2D and 3D CAD designs and technical drawings
- Create detailed production and component drawings for manufacturing
- Develop technical general arrangement drawings for client approval
- Carry out site surveys to inform accurate design solutions
- Liaise with key stakeholders including Tier 1 contractors
- Support manufacturing teams throughout fabrication and assembly
- Manage multiple projects through the design phase
- Ensure compliance with structural and construction requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years experience within the metal fabrication / engineering sector
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D and Inventor
- Proven experience producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings
- Solid understanding of construction methods and structural requirements
- Experience working on bespoke fabricated metal structures
- Comfortable managing your own projects
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients
