Your Role: We are building a scalable Vehicle Finance Claims platform involving OCR ingestion, multi-stage workflows, and external integrations. We are looking for a hands-on MongoDB expert with deep experience (8-10 years) in database design, performance tuning, and cluster management within AWS cloud environments. This role requires someone who has worked extensively on production-grade MongoDB clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience in distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- MongoDB Architecture & Engineering: Design and implement scalable MongoDB data models (schema design) for OCR ingestion pipelines, claims lifecycle systems, and integration hub workflows. Build and manage MongoDB clusters (replica sets & sharded clusters).
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Perform advanced query optimisation and indexing strategies. Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Cluster Management & High Availability: Configure and manage replica sets (primary, secondary) and sharding (chunk splitting, balancing, migrations). Ensure high availability across distributed environments and handle failover, replication lag, and cluster health monitoring.
- Backup, Recovery & Data Migration: Implement backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery where applicable. Ensure data integrity during schema evolution and migrations.
- AWS & Cloud Integration: Deploy and manage MongoDB on MongoDB Atlas. Design systems for auto-scaling, disaster recovery, and cost optimisation.
- Monitoring, Tools & Automation: Use tools such as MongoDB Ops Manager, Cloud Manager, Atlas, MongoDB Compass, and other monitoring tools. Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability.
Required Skills & Experience: 8-10 years of experience in Database Engineering. Strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB (core requirement). Proven experience in sharding, replication, cluster management, performance tuning, query optimisation, indexing strategies, backup & recovery, data migration, troubleshooting production issues, AWS cloud platform, and NoSQL data modelling.
Nice to Have: Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, Cassandra (multi-database exposure). Exposure to Oracle GoldenGate or similar tools. Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
