The Council is delivering major transformation projects, including a multi‑million‑pound Future High Street Fund, to restore the town centre as a thriving community hub.
As Planning Officer (Enforcement) you will carry out the full duties of the post in accordance with legislative requirements, statutory duties, policies and priorities. You will deliver high‑quality services, advise on correct procedures and legislation, and drive continuous improvement.
We’re looking for someone who’s motivated, enthusiastic, highly organised, with excellent written, numeracy and verbal communication skills. You must be educated to degree level or willing to commence study to achieve an RTPI recognised qualification. You will be able to analyse and interpret data, prepare reports and briefings, take part and lead on topic groups and manage projects. Relevant experience in development management at local authority level would be an advantage.
This is a home working contract. The majority of duties will be carried out at home. Employees are contractually required to attend the site on two days per month for team meetings and other site‑based activities, constituting no more than 40% of working time.
