Located in the heart of Staffordshire, Tamworth is a vibrant and well‑connected borough with a rich heritage and a growing population of over 77,000. With strong transport links, an evolving town centre, green spaces, leisure and cultural attractions, it is a great place to live and work. Exciting times lie ahead as the Council delivers major transformation, including multi‑million‑pound investment such as the Future High Street Fund, helping to restore the town centre as a thriving community hub.

We are looking for someone to join our busy Housing Options team to help deliver excellent, customer-focused services, covering maternity leave. In this role, you will support a wide range of void and allocation services, including the coordination, processing and monitoring of void properties, garages, mutual exchanges, nominations and adapted properties. You will work within agreed timescales to help make the best use of housing stock and resources.

We are seeking someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to contribute positively at a time of improvement within the housing department. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of working in housing or have relevant housing knowledge.

This is a home working contract, with the majority of duties carried out from home. However, employees will be contractually required to attend site for two days each month for team meetings, one-to-one meetings and other work‑related activities. There may also be occasions where attendance on site is required for meetings, collaborative work or other duties. Site attendance will be no more than 40% of working time, including the contractual two days per month.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work in the UK check, medical clearance and DBS check.
