Opportunity for a Senior Product Designer/Engineer who is passionate about great design and disruptive solutions. The role is based in Sheffield with a rapidly scaling advanced engineering/tech business that is building a new class of industrial and advanced machine.
This is a hands-on, high ownership role where you would:
- Lead a complex, integrated machine from early concept through to production-ready hardware
- Work across mechanical, electrical and software-controlled systems
- Build, test and iterate directly on the shop floor (not just behind a CAD screen)
- Work across individual parts, assemblies and complete systems
- Play a key role in scaling from prototype to repeatable, manufacturable systems
Key skills / Experience required:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design or similar
- Software, programming or controls experience
- Proven experience taking complex machines from concept to market launch
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals (mechanisms, tolerances, materials)
- A strong bias toward practical, on-site engineering and experimentation
