nsave is a fintech company headquartered in London. Founded by Amer Baroudi and Abdallah AbuHashem, our vision is to “Protect and grow the wealth of the financially excluded”. We have built a global platform that provides trusted USD accounts, global payments, and investments for individuals from distressed economies, where inflation is high and banking systems are unstable. Our compliance-by-design approach and proprietary technology allow us to deliver these services securely and at scale. To date, nsave has raised $22M from leading investors including Sequoia Capital, TQ Ventures, Y Combinator, and SV Angel. Our team has grown 200% in the last year, and with so much more ahead, we’re just getting started!
About the Role
As our Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the infrastructure that powers nsave’s financial services. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll work closely with the CEO and the broader engineering team to architect, ship, and scale resilient, high-performance systems serving tens of thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.
Who you are
- Breadth in platform and infrastructure: You are familiar with a range of engineering functions — backend architecture, databases, site reliability, infrastructure as code, and continuous deployment — that allow us to robustly scale our infrastructure and team.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: You love building and optimising software systems, with solid knowledge of clean software principles, layered abstractions, and complexity tradeoffs.
- A supportive teammate: You care about operational health and enabling other engineers to iterate quickly and ship fast. You’re excited by the prospect of improving developer operations and helping coworkers do their best work.
- Business-oriented decision maker: Your technical choices are deeply informed by product and business context. You know how to navigate questions about speed versus quality.
- Comfortable designing secure systems: You can build and manage the complexity of a financial services system with high security requirements, designing robust systems that withstand penetration attempts.
- Experience in fintech, startups, or regulated environments is a plus.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Design, implement, and own critical subsystems of our infrastructure — including service architecture, reliability, build and release, security, and integration with compliance and banking services.
- Proactively improve system compliance and health by identifying weak spots in the codebase and infrastructure, and prioritising projects to address them.
- Adopt a user-centred mentality, responding quickly to changing requirements and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Scale the engineering team by driving adoption of best practices, interviewing candidates, defining new engineering processes, and supporting your teammates as we grow.

Alongside technical excellence, we look for people whose values align with ours:
