The Role
- This is a wide ranging role and there will be the potential to specialise within it for the right candidate.
- To provide legal advice and assistance and court representation for officers engaged in civil and criminal court and enforcement proceedings, including adult services.
- To attend at licensing, planning, and other committees where legal advice and support is required to keep the Council safe from making unlawful decisions.
- To advise the Council’s planning and highways functions.
About You
- You could be about to qualify as a solicitor, or have experience and looking for a change.
- You will have the enthusiasm and energy to take up this exciting role, together with a passionate commitment to successfully represent the public sector.
- A team player, you will want to learn yourself and develop others, and have the empathy and understanding required of a local government officer.
We have 2 positions we are looking to fill:
- A lawyer with good experience of planning with ideally (but not essential) some understanding of property and highways related matters.
- An adult care lawyer with ideally some experience of this area of law, whether in the private or public sector. Training will be provided in both disciplines.
