The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our rapidly developing Occupational Therapy Service in Tameside. As Manual Handling Practitioners we are actively involved in this process and, in some aspects, are at the front edge of delivery and development within these wider services.
About You
As Manual Handling Practitioners we are aligned with other professionals across four separate neighbourhood teams. These include Social Workers, District Nursing, and also Primary Care Nursing. Joint working alongside our professional colleagues has allowed us to deliver the best outcomes for our Service Users. In addition, our most recent service developments have demonstrated not only the importance of safe manual handling to the overall success of service-wide developments but also revealed new training and development needs for our profession.
We are looking for a Manual Handling Practitioner with enthusiasm, passion for learning and development, a great team player and drive to be part of an exciting, rapidly developing service. The roles and responsibilities will include managing a case load with support from your supervisor, assessing the manual handling needs across community settings and assessing for equipment to allow our service users to live an independent and full life. Our commitment and investment in your training and professional development is of utmost importance. Training will be provided across all aspects of the role as required. There are regular team meetings and continuing professional development and training are valued and prioritised.
