An exciting opportunity to join Adoption Now, a busy, committed and experienced adoption service. The role is based in the Adoption Support workstream and will be based in Bolton. You will be an employee of Tameside Council and seconded to Bolton MBC. This role forms part of the partnership with Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, and Bury Councils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide adoption support services to families from match to when children reach adulthood and beyond.
  • Assess needs of adoptive families using approaches such as Theraplay, DDP, NVR and Therapeutic Life Story Work.
  • Deliver workshops to adoptive families, face‑to‑face or virtually.
  • Work independently and contribute to the development of wider services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and minimum standards.
  • Work within a statutory child care setting and support complex safeguarding.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Preferred post‑qualifying experience in a statutory child care setting.
  • Strong assessment skills and experience working with families under pressure.
  • Comfortable delivering workshops face‑to‑face or virtually.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and statutory minimum standards.

Professional Development

  • Professional grade development bar requires 1) a relevant professional qualification at Level 6 or above, 2) minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, 3) maintained membership of a regulated body, 4) professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
