We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Advanced Practitioner to support our children and families in an Out of Hours role.

You will be supported by the Team Manager for the Out of Hours service with a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and regular supervision to help you reach your full potential.
About You
We are looking for experienced Social Workers to support children and families in Tameside outside of core working hours. When children and families need support outside the 9–5, our Out of Hours Team steps in. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be the senior decision‑maker on shift, providing expert guidance, high‑quality assessments, and calm leadership during fast‑moving and often complex situations.
You will hold responsibility for safeguarding decisions, managing risk, and ensuring that children receive the right intervention at the right time. This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, thinks clearly in crisis, and brings both compassion and authority to every interaction.
- Is passionate about high‑quality, child‑centred practice and improving outcomes

- Is able to undertake urgent assessments where children may be at immediate risk of harm
- Can work collaboratively with police, health and other emergency services

- Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND
- Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND
- Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
