The Council is focussed on creating the right environment to attract investment, jobs, homes and infrastructure to support the growth of Greater Manchester and continue to make Tameside a great place to live, work, invest and visit. Tameside has a number of significant growth projects that are being taken forward. These include the 2,000+ homes at Godley Green Garden Village, the Ashton Moss employment site with capacity to deliver 1m sqft of commercial floorspace for advanced manufacturing uses, the Ashton Town Centre / St Petersfield mixed use regeneration schemes and other significant town centre regeneration projects. These growth projects will deliver significant benefits including affordable housing, substantial infrastructure to improve connectivity, social value outcomes, unlocking private sector investment and expertise, alongside the revitalisation and re-imagination of Tameside’s town centres.
Reporting to the Head of Development and Major Programmes and alongside key partners including GMCA, Homes England and TfGM you will be responsible for leading on the major growth projects within the Development and Major Programmes team. Your role specifically will be to drive forward the delivery of Tameside’s ambitious proposals for the Ashton Mayoral Development Zone (AMDZ), the proposed Ashton Regeneration Partnership, and potential Ashton and Stalybridge Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) support the Council’s corporate objectives for growth.
About You
You will have a relevant professional qualification, with experience of successful delivery of projects and programmes with private / public sector interface on time and within budget. You will be able to work effectively in a range of multi-agency and partnership settings to deliver investment and development schemes whilst leading on the negotiation of complex commercial arrangements for project delivery. You will be able to work at pace with enthusiasm engaging with and influencing stakeholders.
