Contract Reason: Subject to funding

Salary: Grade J. Scale 40 - £51,356 to Scale 41 - £52,413

Hours Per Week: 36

Base Location: Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street, Manchester, M60 2LA. At least two days per week in office and the rest of the week will be a mix of office/home working.

This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a well-established and growing Business Compliance Support service. Operating across Greater Manchester and working with public protection teams, managers and other key stakeholders, you will lead and further develop the reach and operational capabilities of the service. You will be tasked with continuing Business Compliance Support’s innovative nature and approach, with responsibility for planning and developing a strategy for how the service evolves over the coming months and years. You will continue to recruit, train and develop new regulators to deliver compliance support and guidance to businesses alongside tackling the workforce sustainability challenge in public protection services to ensure new regulators are ready to take-up permanent positions in local authorities.

You’ll be required to work independently and lead a team and service to try different ways of supporting business compliance alongside developing the skills of new regulators. You’ll be comfortable working with, and influencing, a range of stakeholders across Greater Manchester including service managers, businesses and business support organisations. You’ll have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complex information to a wide range of audiences. This post is a designated customer facing role under the Fluency Duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.
