Tameside’s Operations and Greenspace Service is recruiting an Environmental Maintenance Operative to carry out a range of tasks that maintain and improve the local environment. The role will be part of a Street Cleansing Team based at Hyde Depot, with the expectation to work from other Council depots as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Empty street litter bins and pick up litter
- Cut back overhanging vegetation
- Remove fly‑tipping and low‑level graffiti
- Operate a range of hand tools and powered machinery such as blowers and hedge trimmers
- Support the team with any additional environmental maintenance duties as required
Key Requirements:
- Full current driving licence
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to work Saturday shifts and to travel between depots
