The Role: As an Engineering Manager, you will be the focal point for supporting our existing civil engineering operational teams. The primary function of this service is to manage the day-to-day maintenance of the highway network and also the delivery of bespoke construction projects. It will be your responsibility to ensure the effective and efficient management and development of a group of employees within the service unit, in accordance with required standards, levels of service, council policies, practices and procedures, in conjunction with the appropriate Head of Engineering Services.

About You: We are looking for an experienced individual with a construction background who is familiar with the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering depot. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the operational aspects of a winter maintenance service and an awareness of commercial activities within a construction environment. You will be a team player, who will want to develop yourself and others, with the empathy and understanding required of a local government officer. The delivery team operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle.
