The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Officer to join the Sensory Service within Adult Services. The role involves assessing the needs of people with sensory loss and providing advice and environmental equipment or adaptations to help them maintain independence. You will work as part of a team, collaborating closely with Rehabilitation Specialists and other multidisciplinary colleagues. The role also includes supporting service development and awareness training across the council and with external organisations.
About You
You have previous experience in a caring role within a social care setting and can demonstrate good communication and organisational skills. You are able to work within a multi‑disciplinary team with service users, carers and colleagues, and are keen to learn and develop professionally.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working in a social care setting with people with visual, hearing or dual sensory loss.
- Good communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
