We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Building Control team as an Assistant Building Control Surveyor. The role has great potential for the candidate to build their experience working on a variety of projects both domestic and commercial of varying scales.
Situated within Greater Manchester, Tameside is part of the fastest growing city-region over the last decade. There are numerous significant growth projects being taken forward. These include the 2,000+ home Godley Green Garden Village, Ashton Moss Mayoral Development Zone and other significant mixed use regeneration projects across Tameside's 9 towns.
The role will involve plan checking, site inspections, dangerous structures, enforcement, and contravention work, with support provided by other experienced members of the team. Good communication and organisational skills, including effective work prioritisation, are an important part of the position.
In return, Tameside will support your training and professional development through a recognised Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying.
Qualifications:- NVQ level 2 in literacy and numeracy or 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, in English, Maths, a Science (preferably Physics or Chemistry) and two other subjects.
- Ability to successfully complete a Level 4 qualification in Building Control (this includes but is not limited to courses provided by Local Authority Building Control (LABC)).
- Ability to obtain Class 2A/2B Registered Building Inspector status through the Building Safety Regulator within the time taken to complete the approved training course plus one year.
