Tameside College are looking to recruit to the role of Teacher in Carpentry and Joinery! Are you an experienced Joiner / Carpenter? Are you looking to pass on your knowledge and skills to the next generation Joiners / Carpenters and move away from the tools? You may already be a teacher or looking to share your skills, knowledge and experience, then this is for you!

As a teacher in Carpentry / Joinery, you'll be auto enrolled into the Teacher Pension scheme, get a minimum of 45 days' holidays (pro‑rata for fractional contract) and enjoy some really great benefits on top of this like:

Here’s the standard bit: You’ll be responsible for planning, delivering and developing teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles; taking responsibility for your quality of teaching and related curriculum development that meet learner needs, whilst assessing learners’ progress in College or on work experience and devising assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets.

What you’ll need:

  • Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual
  • Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2
  • Level 3 qualification or relevant NVQ (or equivalent) in Carpentry and/or Joinery
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/PGCE/Bachelor of Education or will be required to achieve Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 3 years of appointment
  • Relevant assessment qualifications – IQA/A1/V1
  • Evidence of current Continuous Professional Development
