We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Pensions Officer to join our team and support the smooth running of Payroll & Pensions function at Tameside College.

About the Role

As the Payroll and Pensions Officer, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties with a strong focus on payroll processing, pension schemes, and general financial administration. You will be integral to ensuring that all payroll and pension contributions are processed accurately and on time, supporting the financial health and compliance of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing staff payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Processing pension administration, including calculating and processing employee and employer deductions, liaising with pension providers, and ensuring correct and timely reporting.
  • Maintaining and updating employee payroll records and ensuring that all data is current and accurate.
  • Reconciling payroll reports and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Assisting with monthly and annual financial reports, providing analysis as needed.
  • Assisting with the preparation of budget forecasts and financial planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with taxation regulations and staying up‑to‑date with any changes in payroll or pension legislation.
  • Providing support to staff and answering payroll‑related queries.
  • Collaborating with other finance team members to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about developing their career in payroll or pensions within an educational setting.
