As a Learning Support Facilitator in our Aspirations department, you will provide a range of support to learners with a variety of needs including difficulties/disabilities, Literacy, Numeracy and Language. You will also provide emotional support and encourage participation in the learning environment and may be required to support learners with personal care needs.
You will support learners across a wide range of vocational subjects and may be required to work at more than one of the college's centres. You will work alongside classroom tutors to break down barriers and ensure that learners are able to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will ensure that individual learner needs are met and contribute to raising awareness and understanding of the needs of individual learners in the wider college community.
What you'll need: With some previous experience in supporting young people, you will have a sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural) and have an ability to motivate students with differing needs and abilities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills in working with students, ability to remain calm and a problem solving approach to managing challenging situations.
