About the opportunity

Tameside College is recruiting on behalf of Ashton Pioneer Homes for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Customer Service Apprentice.

You will join a busy housing association's Customer Service Team, helping to provide a high-quality service to tenants, visitors, colleagues and contractors. Through structured training, workplace experience and college study, you will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to achieve the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship.

Training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship.

What you will be doing

Working alongside the Customer Service Team and Services Manager, you will:

  • Respond to enquiries from tenants and visitors in a polite, professional and helpful manner.
  • Provide general administrative support, including updating records and checking customer details.
  • Support housing enquiries and applications, helping to check information and signposting customers to appropriate advice.
  • Report routine repair requests and liaise with tenants and maintenance contractors.
  • Help arrange property access for planned maintenance work.
  • Assist with managing diaries for the Housing and Asset Teams.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the front office, including preparing, opening and closing the office.
  • Help monitor digital and social media enquiries and update the organisation's social media accounts as directed.
  • Design and produce posters and other customer information.
  • Assist with gathering information, preparing statistics and producing reports.
  • Attend meetings when required and help prepare minutes.
  • Report health and safety concerns to the Services Manager.
  • Attend training and provide support across the team as your skills develop.

You will also learn about the organisation's housing and asset management services and undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to your role.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using computers and a willingness to learn new digital systems.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • A respectful and professional approach when communicating with others.
  • Good attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
  • A strong commitment to college attendance, studying and completing the apprenticeship.
