Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (ICFT) seeks applications for a Consultant in General Orthopaedic Surgery with a sub-specialty interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery to join the Orthopaedic Team. The successful applicant should have the ability and commitment to promote best practice in patient management in conjunction with delivering local and national targets. Your experience and enthusiasm will be supported by a skilled team of clinical staff along with a full complement of dedicated and trained nurses.
This consultant post is for a substantive Consultant contract. The post holder will undertake general and specialist Orthopaedic surgery covering general trauma and covering On calls. The job also requires the post holder activities to include the management of elective and emergency patients and in particular elective and trauma cases especially Foot and Ankle injuries. The elective service would focus on Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic procedures.
Main duties of the job
To provide excellent care and treatment to the residents of Tameside and Glossop in relation to orthopaedic surgery (both general and Lower limb with specific focus on Foot and Ankle injuries and pathology) including outpatient, day case and elective procedures, trauma management, pre and post-operative ward care and on-call delivery.
The successful candidate will join a team of senior medical and nursing staff committed to providing a high quality surgical service to the people of Tameside and Glossop. The common aim will be to develop the department in all aspects of clinical service, teaching and research.
