Payroll and accounts assistant required for our busy accountancy practice. Based in Bolton town centre (BL1), you will be working initially to cover maternity leave on payroll. Experience is preferred but not essential; training will be offered.
Duties will include:
- Preparing payslips & distribute to employees
- Notifying employers of PAYE liabilities
- Bank reconciliations
- Basic VAT return preparation
- Answering telephone, and dealing with simple queries
The software we use is as follows:
- Brightpay for Windows (desktop version)
- Moneysoft
- TaxCalc
- Xero
- Quickbooks
- Sage
- Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint)
You will join a small, dedicated and pleasant office with on-site parking space and free to use canteen facilities. Working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Although the role is primarily maternity cover for the payroll bureau, this is a permanent position, with the aim to have you pivot into general accountancy and bookkeeping duties (with ad-hoc payroll work) when the maternity leave is over. You are not required to have any qualifications (AAT, CIMA, ICAEW) but if you do we can review the salary offer accordingly.
