Tamar Coaches is looking for a motivated HGV/PSV Technician to join our friendly and supportive workshop team. Based in Plymouth.

About the Role
Working within our IR Tec accredited workshop, you will play an important role in keeping our fleet of coaches and buses safe, reliable and roadworthy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Repairs to engines, braking systems, transmissions and other vehicle systems
- Replacing parts and carrying out repairs to a high standard
- Preparing vehicles for MOT and compliance inspections
- Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
- Supporting roadside breakdowns when required
- Working closely with our operations team to minimise vehicle downtime
- Following all relevant health, safety and vehicle compliance requirements
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our workshop practices
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you'll have experience working with HGVs, PSVs, coaches, buses or other commercial vehicles, along with strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. We’d particularly welcome applicants with:
- HGV/PSV maintenance experience
- An NVQ or equivalent vehicle maintenance qualification
- IR Tec certification
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
- A good understanding of DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
