The Company: A well-established, private equity-backed professional services organization with a global footprint and a large, distributed commercial team is entering a pivotal phase of its technology evolution. With operations across multiple international offices and a 20+ year history of growth, the company is transitioning from legacy systems to a modern, data-centric infrastructure inspired by top-tier professional services models. A newly organized, high-integrity data environment is now in place, laying the foundation for building a best-in-class technology function to drive scalability, efficiency, and performance.

The Opportunity: This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded, execution-oriented Chief Technology Officer to lead the company’s end-to-end technology evolution. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO will shape and implement a strategy that drives real-time commercial impact—boosting productivity, speed, and profitability. This is not a role for a traditional CTO; it’s for a builder who can introduce a professional services-level rigor to tech and data. Equity is a core part of the compensation, and the right leader will quickly see their impact translate into tangible business outcomes in a high-growth, PE-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution: Convert company strategy into day-to-day technology solutions that deliver measurable revenue impact within 60–90 days.
  • Data Utilization: Leverage a clean, structured data infrastructure to generate insights, prioritize client targeting, and enhance team performance.
  • Productization & Process Optimization: Transform KPIs into user-centric tools and dashboards that influence consumer behavior, focusing on both speed and delivery quality.
  • Tool Integration: Act as a systems integrator—identify, vet, and scale best-in-class third-party tools to streamline workflows and ensure adoption across a 1,500+ user base.
  • Team Leadership: Rebuild and lead a ~25-person global tech team, currently London-heavy, with plans to scale in the U.S. (Dallas, Boston, or New York).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with the CEO, executive team, investors, and regional leaders to ensure technology initiatives are ROI-driven and aligned with business goals.
  • Foundational Excellence & Innovation: Prioritize immediate wins through RPA, analytics, and tool integration while laying the groundwork for future AI/ML initiatives.
  • Vendor & Budget Oversight: Manage external vendor relationships with a focus on value creation and cost-efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a CTO or senior technology leader, preferably in a multi-thousand-user services organization.
  • Demonstrable track record of translating business strategy into rapid, measurable commercial outcomes through technology.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering, data science principles, BI, product management, and systems integration.
  • Experience productizing KPIs and driving user adoption of technology tools across a large, distributed sales-oriented workforce.
  • Hands-on leader, capable of being in with the troops and driving execution in a fast-paced, get things done yesterday environment.
  • Experience transforming and building technology teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, comfortable with the relentless pace and expectations of a PE-backed business.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (experience with Mercury a plus, but not essential – focus is on system of record capability) and Microsoft stack.
  • Pragmatic approach; ability to prioritize foundational improvements and integrations before large-scale AI overhauls.
