Grand Visual (Talon's creative production agency) are on the hunt for a ultra-talented and highly skilled Motion Graphics Director with deep expertise in Adobe After Effects to lead the creation of compelling motion content for OOH and DOOH environments. This role combines hands‑on motion design, creative leadership, and strategic thinking, overseeing projects from concept to delivery and guiding a team of motion designers and other creative professionals, collaborating closely with creative, production, and account teams.

You’ll have the amazing opportunity to deliver award‑winning projects, OOH campaigns, Anamorphic Executions and activations across the world. Working alongside our Design Director and reporting to our ECD, you’ll be across the entire creative process, from concept development to final execution, and provide feedback and guidance to the creative, technical, production and account teams throughout.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Creative Leadership and Direction
    • Lead the creative direction of motion graphics projects across OOH and DOOH campaigns
    • Translate brand strategies and creative concepts into high‑impact motion content
    • Ensure all motion work is bold, legible, and effective in for OOH
    • Maintain a strong visual standard across all motion output
    • Engage with clients across the campaign
    • Direct, mentor, and inspire the in‑house creative team and freelancers
    • Present creative work clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and clients
    • Manage timelines, workflows, and production schedules
  • Management
    • Provide project status updates
    • Flag potential issues, including resourcing and timeline bottlenecks
    • Work with producers and other team members to understand the project scope and objectives
    • Manage multiple projects of varying complexity
    • Spot areas of improvement in our processes
    • Develop new processes or updates to our current ones to aid the efficiency of our creative workflow
    • Motivate others to think creatively and manage deadlines
  • Motion Design & Production
    • Create highly engaging complex animations for a diverse array of projects
    • Develop creative motion graphic work on projects and for key clients
    • Create and oversee motion graphics using Adobe After Effects as the primary tool
    • Manage delivery of multiple formats, durations, and screen specifications
    • Participate and lead in creative brainstorming sessions and write accurate and thorough descriptions of your concepts
    • Design, layouts and mockups
    • Research creativity across the medium and contribute to knowledge sharing
  • OOH / DOOH Expertise
    • Apply best practices for DOOH‑specific storytelling, such as understanding dwell times and audience considerations
    • Adapt creative for static, animated, subtle motion and data‑driven DOOH formats
  • Personal Development
    • Complete programmes of work or study relevant to the creative role that will benefit the business
    • Review own performance and look for areas of improvement
  • Environmental, Social and Governance Objectives (ESG)
    • Champion sustainability and advocate the value of positive social and environmental impact within your team.
    • Participate in projects and initiatives which drive Talon’s commitment to positive social and environmental causes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Confidence presenting and communicating directly with clients
  • The ability to work under pressure within a fast paced environment across multiple briefs
  • Decision Making: We truly believe in our staff and their decision making skills and allow them to demonstrate this on behalf of the business.
  • Ambitious self‑starter, independent and resourceful, with initiative
  • Planning and Organising: You need to demonstrate your planning and organisation skills on every project.
  • Experience of working in a production driven commercial and office environment
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, typography, and visual storytelling
  • Demonstrable experience working on OOH and/or DOOH campaigns
  • Experience delivering content across multiple screen formats and resolutions
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage complex projects
  • Familiarity with Project management and studio management software
  • An excellent standard of computer literacy including the use of PCs, Macs
  • 7+ years of professional motion design experience, with proven leadership or director-level responsibility
  • Advanced mastery of Adobe After Effects and Motion Graphics
  • 3D skills would be a benefit but not crucial to the role
  • Some print knowledge would be useful, but again, not crucial to the role
  • A portfolio demonstrating your approach to a wide range of commercial and brand‑driven projects
  • Excellent core graphic design and illustration skills including Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Great eye for animation and attention to detail
