Overview
We’re looking for an HR Manager to help us build Tallow+Ash into one of the most exciting modern brands in the UK and create an equally brilliant place to work.
As the first dedicated HR person in the business, you’ll have the opportunity to build our people function from the ground up. This is a broad, hands-on role covering recruitment, culture, employee relations, contracts, policies, legal compliance, performance and the everyday support our people and managers need.
You’ll work closely with the founders, COO and wider leadership team to help us hire exceptional people, build a high-performing culture and create the systems needed to support a rapidly growing business. You’ll be equally comfortable thinking strategically, handling sensitive situations and getting stuck into the practical details.
The role will be based at Tallow+Ash HQ, with remote working also considered for the right person.

4. Managing contracts, policies and compliance
- Own employment contracts, employee handbooks, policies and other HR documentation
- Ensure our employment practices remain fair, consistent and compliant with UK employment law
- Keep the business informed about relevant legislative changes and recommend any actions required
