Did you know that 50% of the world’s wheat harvested for bread making is cut by a John Deere machine? Did you also know that the grass length at Wimbledon has a direct effect on the style of play each year and can be tuned to millimetre accuracy?
As one of the UK’s most forward‑thinking machinery dealerships, Tallis Amos are offering you the chance of a John Deere apprenticeship, giving you a world‑class education in Retail Parts with structured prospects for future career development within our company.
The main purpose of a retailer is to assist customers when they purchase products and services, which requires a good understanding of the stock being sold, the variety of ways customers can shop, and the ability to process payments, for example, using a till. Retailers must be passionate about delivering a quality service that always aims to exceed customers’ expectations. Therefore, retailers enjoy direct contact with a wide range of people and are motivated by completing a sale and knowing a customer is happy with their purchase.
The apprenticeship is a two‑year course and will develop your skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas. During the two years you will learn all about logistics, parts, retail and inventory within John Deere machinery.
We require a basic level of education with minimum GCSE grades of 4/C in both maths and English. You will be mentored which will help you in your development and guide you with best practice in on‑the‑job situational learning. You will spend time away each year at the John Deere UK training centre in Langar, Nottinghamshire learning the theory of your role and then returning to the depot to work closely with your mentor putting this knowledge into practice.
