Engineering Technician Apprenticeship - Turf/Groundscare. Locations: Kemble and Evesham.
As an apprentice with Tallis Amos, you will undertake a John Deere Engineering Technician Apprenticeship focused on mechanical engineering within the Turf Tech program. The three-year program leads to a John Deere Diploma equivalent to NVQ/A Level, developing skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems related to machinery used in the sports turf industry. You will be mentored by an experienced engineer and spend time at the John Deere UK training centre in Saxondale, Nottinghamshire, before returning to the depot to apply your learning with your mentor.
Responsibilities
- Learn and develop skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems within John Deere machinery.
- Participate in on-the-job situational learning and practical project work under the guidance of a time-served engineer.
- Attend off-site training at the John Deere UK training centre to learn theory and then apply knowledge in the depot environment.
- Engage in structured learning and assessments with support from ProVQ, John Deere’s partner for this program.
Entry Requirements
- Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
- Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
- Registration with the Apprenticeship Finder website as part of the application process.
Programme Details
- Three-year apprenticeship leading to a John Deere Diploma (equivalent to NVQ/A Level).
- Structured learning with on-the-job practice and assessment.
