Apprenticeship Overview
As one of the UKâs most forwardâthinking machinery dealerships, Tallis Amos offers you the chance of a John Deere apprenticeship, providing a worldâclass education in mechanical engineering and structured prospects for future career development within our company.
The apprenticeship is a threeâyear course leading to a John Deere Diploma equivalent to NVQ/A Level. The program develops skills and proficiency across a wide range of technical areas.
During the three years you will learn all about mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems within John Deere, with the Turf Tech programme focusing on machinery used within the sports turf industry.
Responsibilities
You will be mentored by a timeâserved engineer who will guide your development and best practice in onâtheâjob situational learning. You will spend time each year at the John Deereé ćUK training centre in Saxondale, Nottinghamshire learning theory and then returning to the depot to apply this knowledge with your mentor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Entry requirements: a grade 4/C or above in Maths and English and the ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test. The apprenticeship runs in line with ProVQ, John Deereâs structured learning and assessment partner, who provide support services to enable you to achieve the highest standard of work for our customers.

Closing date for applications is 1700 on Friday 24 April 2026. Interviews will be scheduled during May and June, with apprentices starting their John Deere journey in September 2025. Applicants should submit a CV and cover letter written without the use of AI.
