As one of the UK’s most forward thinking machinery dealerships, Tallis Amos are offering you the chance of a John Deere apprenticeship, giving you a world class education in mechanical engineering with structured prospects for future career development within our company.

The apprenticeship is a three year course leading you to a John Deere Diploma which is equivalent to NVQ/A Level. The programs will develop your skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas. During the 3 years you will learn all about mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems within John Deere with the Turf Tech program focussing on machinery used within the sports turf industry.

You will be mentored by a time served engineer who will help you in your development and guide you with best practice in on-the-job situational learning. You will spend time away each year at the John Deere UK training centre in Saxondale, Nottinghamshire learning the theory of your role and then returning to the depot at Kemble to work closely with your mentor putting this knowledge into practice.

Entry requirements are a grade 4/C or above in Maths and English as well as being able to pass a mechanical aptitude test. The apprenticeship is run in line with ProVQ who are John Deere’s structured learning and assessment partner for this program who provide support services whilst you are in our program enabling you to achieve the highest standard of work for our customers.

Closing date for applications will be 1700 on Friday 29th May 2026 with interviews to be scheduled during June ready for apprentices to start their John Deere journey in September 2025. Applicants should submit a CV and cover letter written without the use of AI.
