My client is looking for a motivated, proactive and customer‑focused Import Air Freight Operator to join their growing team. The primary focus of the role is managing international air freight import shipments – supporting customers from quotation through to cargo release, while delivering a high standard of service at every stage.
The role involves:
- Managing air freight import shipments from initial quotation to final delivery
- Liaising with overseas agents, airlines, carriers and customers worldwide
- Preparing and issuing quotations, ensuring BIFA Terms & Conditions are included
- Making courtesy follow‑up calls to customers regarding quotations and bookings
- Coordinating bookings with global partners and carriers
- Tracking shipments and proactively updating customers on progress
- Preparing documentation including Notices of Arrival and invoices
- Supporting customs clearance processes and ensuring all documentation is compliant
- Ensuring cargo is released only against correct documentation and cleared funds
- Querying and approving invoices in line with agreed rates
- Resolving issues efficiently while protecting customer and supplier relationships
The role requires:
- Experience within air freight imports or international logistics
- Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to work using initiative and common sense
- Attention to detail and strong administrative capability
- Confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to manage workloads effectively in a fast‑paced environment
