We are recruiting for an experienced Air & Ocean Import/Export Operator to join an established freight forwarding company based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with multimodal freight experience who can confidently manage air and ocean shipments from booking through to final delivery.
Your responsibilities:
- Managing air and ocean import and export shipments
- Coordinating bookings with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
- Preparing and checking import and export documentation
- Completing or arranging customs clearance documentation
- Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
- Producing quotations and negotiating rates with suppliers
- Resolving delays, documentation issues and operational queries
- Maintaining accurate shipment records on internal systems
- Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Ensuring shipments are completed efficiently and compliantly
