You will produce high-quality low-level technical designs, driving key technology decisions and establishing the architectural guardrails that ensure our infrastructure platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to business objectives. Working closely with Architecture, Security, Engineering, Delivery, and third-party partners, you will design end-to-end infrastructure solutions that span on-premises and cloud environments. Design secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable infrastructure solutions that meet business, operational, security, and regulatory requirements. Develop detailed low-level designs for infrastructure platforms, including compute, storage, virtualisation, networking, identity services, and cloud-native services. Define and promote reusable design patterns, standards, and technology guardrails to improve consistency, security, operational efficiency, and cost optimisation. Ensure all solutions incorporate security, identity, connectivity, resilience, and operational support considerations from inception. Evaluate existing infrastructure and cloud services, identifying opportunities to improve performance, security, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Subject Matter Expertise & Governance - Act as a technical design authority across infrastructure technologies, including Private Cloud, Azure, and Identity Services. Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture blueprints, standards, reference designs, and best practice guidance. • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with Enterprise, Security, and Solution Architects to ensure infrastructure designs support wider business and technology objectives. Collaborate with engineering, operations, delivery teams, business analysts, project managers, and third-party suppliers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Facilitate technical workshops and design reviews to drive consensus and ensure alignment across stakeholders. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to engineering and operational teams, supporting the adoption of new technologies and design approaches. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, helping shape infrastructure strategy and technology investment decisions.
  • Engineering Practices - Ensure solutions are designed for operational excellence, with appropriate monitoring, observability, backup, recovery, and support models. Support successful delivery and transition of infrastructure solutions into operational service. Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
