About the Team
The Commercial team plays a critical role in driving growth, profitability and market competitiveness by balancing customer needs with financial objectives while navigating competitive and regulatory pressures. Reporting into the Commercial Director, the Head of Networks will lead all commercial and strategic relationships with wholesale broadband network providers, ensuring the company optimises access, pricing and service quality across multiple network partners. The role focuses on securing cost-effective, high-performing network supply partnerships to underpin the company's retail broadband growth, customer experience and profitability objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Own and manage all wholesale broadband partner relationships working closely with PXC colleagues (e.g., Openreach, CityFibre, Community Fibre, Freedom Fibre, Netomnia).
- Input TalkTalk requirements to PXC contract negotiations covering pricing, service level agreements, and innovation partnerships.
- Develop and implement the network strategy to ensure competitive cost-per-line and access to the latest broadband technologies.
- Oversee performance management of network supply — uptime, install success rates, repair times, and escalation handling.
- Liaise with Finance and Product teams to forecast line costs, rebates and capex requirements.
- Work closely with Product and Technology teams to ensure coverage data and network capabilities inform product positioning and pricing.
- Providing deep telco commercial expertise on projects led by other teams where required, representing the Commercial team to ensure a long-term, strategic view is put forward.
- Provide leadership & coaching to direct reports to deliver company, network and broader commercial strategy and objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong market knowledge and understanding of network supplier landscape, customer preferences, emerging trends and competitor activities to shape the Network commercial strategy and execution.
- We’re seeking a high calibre individual with strong commercial acumen and negotiation ability, with excellent analytical and numeracy skills to support solid commercial decision making.
- The ability to build multi-level relationships across TalkTalk and the gravitas to command respect when presenting to Senior Management and external suppliers.
- Excellent stakeholder management, clear and concise communication and working with other business functions to ensure cross-functional success is key.
- The ability and personal skills to enable visualisation of an opportunity and communicate to stakeholders and contributors; this includes the ability to create business plans and models for C-suite review and evaluation.
- The successful individual will be a proven agent of change, able to organise, coordinate and deliver in complexity. They will have a strong background in delivery and implementation of complex cross-functional initiatives.
