As Communications Manager, you will play a central role in connecting colleagues, media and external stakeholders—ensuring our messages are clear, timely, and aligned with TalkTalk’s brand and strategic direction. You will support media relations, drive engaging colleague communications, and help build our reputation with stakeholders as we transition from a traditional telco to a dynamic techco.
Main Responsibilities
- Work across the Communications & Stakeholder Engagement team to deliver consistent storytelling and support with stakeholder outreach and information requests.
- Manage day-to-day external communications, including responding to media enquiries and preparing press materials, and proactively identifying and delivering media opportunities that highlight TalkTalk’s transformation and agile future.
- Develop and deliver engaging colleague communications across multiple channels, including email, intranet, and social media.
- Write, edit, and proof content for both internal and external audiences, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Assist the Head of Stakeholder Engagement in responding to information requests from regulator and Government, as well as preparing for regular and ad-hoc meetings and workshops.
- Organise and deliver colleague engagement activities and events in conjunction with the Head of Culture, Learning & Engagement.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communications, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Support crisis communications and urgent updates, protecting the company’s reputation and keeping colleagues informed.
- Maintain and update content on digital platforms, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand values.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in media relations, internal communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of colleague communications, media relations and regulatory engagement.
- Understanding of importance of aligned communications and its impact on commercial goals.
- Awareness of the telco-to-techco landscape and its implications for brand positioning.
Skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage colleagues, journalists, and community partners.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient with digital communication tools and platforms.

Experience
- Proven experience supporting communications campaigns and content creation (internal and external).
