Role Overview
As part of the Major Change function, the Project Manager is the driving force behind the delivery of strategic projects. Responsible for delivering on time and within budget, the Project Manager ensures that all stakeholders are aligned and accountable to project objectives and maintains momentum on project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered to time, budget, and quality standards.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle from initiation to completion, developing end-to-end project plans in adherence to the PXC Change Framework.
- Manage projects within the telecoms domain, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with network engineering, development teams, and third-party vendors to deliver telecom solutions.
- Lead and manage software development projects through all phases of the SDLC, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA Engineers to define project scope and deliverables.
- Establish and maintain the overall project plan, key milestones, and work packages, ensuring clear accountability and ownership across the stakeholder group.
- Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as appropriate.
- Provide potential resolutions to problems, project changes, and resource constraints.
- Set up and manage appropriate project governance, including SteerCos and reporting to ensure stakeholders remain fully engaged.
- Ensure planned project deliverables are fit for purpose and successfully accepted into service.
- Establish and execute project communications plans, including pre/post-implementation comms.
- Identify and track project success factors and operational KPIs.
- Conduct end-of-project evaluations and ensure lessons learned are factored into future projects.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in successful project delivery, ideally within the telecommunications sector (e.g., network rollout, infrastructure upgrades, OSS/BSS integration).
- Proven experience leading software development projects across all phases of the SDLC.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of telecom technologies such as fiber, 5G, VoIP, or IP networking.
- Accreditation in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
- Good commercial awareness, ensuring projects are delivered cost-effectively while meeting business case assumptions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a matrix team to deliver project objectives.
