We are working with a very reputable client who are looking to recruit a Tooling Technician to join their team & growing business based in Derbyshire. You will ensure smooth production by resolving any tooling breakdowns & carrying out any preventative maintenance on press tools & fixtures across the site.
To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
- Technical Apprenticeship, experienced in Toolmaking or a related discipline
- Proven experience in press tooling maintenance or manufacturing environments
- Experience of forming, cutting & bending of metal processes
- Confident in using machinery such as milling machines, lathes and grinders
- Ability to interpret and read engineering drawings
- Experience with CNC programming or advanced tooling design - desirable
Within this position, you’ll also be:
- Resolving tooling breakdowns
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on press tools, fixtures & jigs
- Diagnosing & resolving complex tooling issues, using hands on expertise to minimise downtime
- Manufacturing, repairing & adjusting tooling using tool room equipment such as lathes & milling machines
- Performing tooling modifications & adjustments to enable the efficient production of different component variants across press tools & machinery
- Working in close collaboration with production & quality teams, ensuring all tooling meets engineering specifications & delivers precise, high-quality output
- Identifying recurring issues, implementing sustainable improvements & contributing to tooling projects, while maintaining accurate documentation in line with internal processes
Salary is £43,000 - £45,000 per annum. Working Hours are 2 shift pattern of days and afters during Summer Months. Annual Bonus.
