Managing Quantity Surveyor/ Lead QS - Building / Construction- Dorchester + Some Remote Work

Senior QS seeking promotion to Managing QS also considered.

You will lead on a Circa Β£60m new build healthcare project in Dorchester.

Contract type - NEC3 Option C on P22 Framework.

Project Duration – Started onsite now (Enabling works)– Completes Dec 2026.

Previous Healthcare project experience is not essential.

Opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Lead QS to join one of the UK's leadingbuilding contractors, working on long term local South West / South Central projects.

Role:

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead and supervise project commercial teams with duties including:

  • Management of subcontract procurement by quantity surveyors
  • Commercial management of subcontractor accounts from commencement on site to negotiation and agreement of final accounts
  • Ensuring timely certification and payment of subcontractors
  • Review and management of monthly cost value reconciliation reports
  • Review of monthly cost and value to complete forecasts for projects
  • Review and negotiation of final accounts
  • Advising on procurement issues
  • Management of cost and risk
  • Provision of commercial and contractual support and advice to management teams
  • Input to customer care of all the stakeholders involved in a project
  • Promotion of positive image of the Company name to protect and promote the brand name
  • Motivation of team members to gain their commitment and support ensuring their optimum input into the project
  • Leading team development for the benefit of the individuals and the company
  • Development of supply chain relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors for the benefit of projects
  • Input to business continuity processes
  • Leading a small team of surveyors.

Requirements:

To be considered for this Quantity Surveyor role you must meet the following criteria:

-Previous employment as a Lead QS / Quantity Surveyor / Project Surveyor Managing QS, Commercial Manager or Senior QS.

-Previous Main contractor employment.

-Previous building sector project experience is essential.

-Previous public sector projects (Education, Health, MOD , MOJ) would be ideal but not essential.

The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will receive:
